Paul K. Lewis and Kyle V. Lewis in Paris, Summer of 2024 |
Weekend in Paris (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025 introduction) (Dr. Frances S. Baker (Lewis) X Pray Without Ceasing (Emmerich)) Tet., M, Sev, 6" bloom, 30" scape, 3 way branching, 17 buds.
I always try and pair the 2 best introductions in a particular color or style to get what I hope to be is the best outcome. Both Dr. Frances Baker and the lovely Pray Without Ceasing from Karol Emmerich are exactly that. I made this cross a lot back and forth. Surprisingly I got a lot of very average seedlings in this color range. There were just a couple reselects. Weekend in Paris definitely stood out from the crowd. It really came into it's own this year putting on a full display of lovely frosted blooms. Weekend in Paris is a purple flower with a lavender frosted eye zone with a corresponding lavender frosted and gold double edge. In peak bloom it is a stunning specimen to see with wonderful plant habit to boot. This introduction is special and it sold out quickly. Fortunately to people who will re sell it across the country. Weekend in Paris is fertile both ways. $350 for a SF. SOLD OUT. It will be available for sale next Fall for resale and contact me at PLar4747@aol.com and I will direct you to those sellers.

Glass Animals (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025) |
Glass Animals (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025) (Fractured (Lewis) X Venetian Pools (Pierce)) Tet., EM, Sev, 6" bloom, 30" scape, 3 way branching, 15 buds.
I love it when a patterned daylily has a nice tall scape. So many of the earlier patterned daylilies have short, top branched scapes. I believe Glass Animals gets it's height from it's parent Fractured, which is also very tall. The pattern is very consistent. Glass Animals is a light yellow flower with a light purple patterned eye zone with concentric circles, blending into a yellow green throat. Fertile both ways but pods are difficult but possible. $250 for a SF. SOLD OUT. This will be available this winter from resellers. Contact me at PLar4747@aol.com for more information. Thank you.

Napoleon Dynamite (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025) (Mom's Kind Heart (Bush) X Dragon Heart Stone (Peterson)) Tet., M, Sev, 7" bloom, 36" scape, 3 way branching, 15 buds.
I loved both of Napoleon Dynamite's parents for so long. Both Mom's Kind Heart and Dragon Heart Stone have wonderful plant habit complete with lovely tall scapes. The results of crossing the two together was better than I expected. Napoleon Dynamite is a bright red flower with a white shark's tooth edge blending into a yellow green throat. You won't miss the 3 foot scapes when it's in peak bloom. Sturdy scapes. Puts on a real show in a clump. Fertile both ways. $200 for a SF. SOLD OUT. Should be available in a year from resellers.

Temet Nosce (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025) |
Temet Nosce (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025) (Stolen Heart (Pickles) X George Fox (Lewis)) Tet., M, Sev, 5.5" bloom, 23" scape, 2 way branching, 12 buds.
Temet Nosce translated means know thyself. I saw it in the movie, The Matrix and it kind of stuck. Seemed fitting for this flower. You can see the influence of Lee Pickles Stolen Heart on this bloom. When I crossed it with my introduction, George Fox I had no idea it would darken the red part of the bloom. Temet Nosce is a dark red flower with a light red watermarked eye zone, blending into a yellow green throat. It doesn't have the best plant habit, but when it is in bloom, you can't miss it. One of those special reds that invites you in for a closer look. Easily fertile both ways. $100 for a SF. SOLD OUT. Available from resellers next Fall.

Superbad (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025) |
Superbad (Paul K. Lewis, Spring 2025) (David Bowie (Lewis) X Venetian Pools (Pierce)) Tet., M, Sev, 6" bloom, 28" scape, 2 way branching, 14 buds.
My first introduction from my great patterned daylily, David Bowie. It was nice to see that the scape on Superbad was just as tall as David Bowie's. There are a lot of reasons I have been using Superbad for my patterned program. If you look at the 2nd bloom above you can see teeth on parts of it. I really want to see patterned toothy daylilies in the future. The pattern on Superbad is mesmerizing. On certain days it really blows you away. Superbad is a light buff cream with a dark patterned eye zone with concentric rings, blending into a yellow green throat. The pattern is fairly consistent, but I have seen off days where the eye zone is just dark. I believe the pattern will get better and be more consistent with it's offspring. Fertile both ways. $75 for a SF. Fall shipment available. Contact me at PLar4747@aol.com to reserve your plant.
THANK YOU for taking the time to peruse my website. My introductions are usually sold out because I live in the north and can't increase them fast enough to meet demand. If you see something you like, email me at PLar4747@aol.com and I will help direct you to a reseller who has some in stock or will in the near future. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
