Light yellow with a dark violet traingular patterned eye zone with a dark violet narrow edge blending into a yellow green throat.  I love the consistency of the pattern with Painted Shadows.  Sets pods easily. Pollen easy as well.  Excited to see the offspring from this one in the future.  One of my best. $200 for a SF. SOLD OUT. This should be available on the Lily Auction in the future.

Light white flower with a violet patterned eye zone with a mother of pearl pattern, sometimes forming a web shape pattern, blending into a yellow green throat.  You can't miss the tall scapes of Web Slinger. Easy to spot from across the garden.  Really easy to set pods on and pollen is easy as well.  One of the highlights of the last couple seasons.  $175 for a SF.  SOLD OUT.  Will be available on the Lily Auction in the future.

I've known my friend, Justus Tyrone Gooden since probably 1985.  We met through some mutual friends, but we really connected through music.  Tyrone is an incredibly gifted song writer, producer and drummer. I don't think there is any one musician that I felt such a connection with musically, where we could just go into the basement at my Grandmother's house in Cleveland Heights and collaborate on hit song after hit song. Tyrone's friendship went beyond music and he helped my first wife and I with the painting inside our house in Gates Mills.  He went above and beyond with his help and I will always be grateful for that. He is a genuinely kind and funny human being. I am lucky to be blessed with his friendship.

The daylily Justus Tyrone Gooden is a dark purple flower with a lighter purple eye zone, blending into a yellow green throat.  This purple is special and had to carry the name of a special friend.  It's easy to hybridize with it being fertile both ways.  One of my better purples.  $150 for a SF. Squire's Castle was built in the 1890's by Feargus B. Squire (1850-1932) who was vice president and general manager of the Standard Oil Company. It was the first piece in a grand plan for a 525 acre residential compound to be occupied by Mr. Squire and his wife Rebecca.  It now stands as seen above in the Willoughby, Ohio Metroparks and is free for all to visit. I have enjoyed going there to meet up with friends and have had many great memories there over the years. 

Squire's Castle the daylily is a royal purple with a lighter purple watermark blending into a yellow green throat. It is complemented by a double edge of light purple and gold on the outer edge. It does occasionally get hung up on cold mornings. It has a lovely tall scape and is easily fertile both ways. $150 for a single fan.  SOLD OUT.  Will be available on the Lily Auction in the future.

Named for the city I currently live in.  You can't miss Mayfield Heights in a garden. What a scape! It has 5 way branching and 50 buds, so when it is full of flowers the scapes can lean a bit, but I haven't seen the wind blow it over.  Lovely yellow color that blends into a light yellow throat.  Easily fertile both ways.  $150 for a SF. You can see I love bands from the 80's.......yes it's TRUE. Ha ha. Spandau Ballet is a rose pink flower with a yellow watermark and a corresponding ruffled golden edge. I was always drawn to this flower when it is in bloom.  There isn't anything else like it in the garden. Unique.  Easily fertile both ways. $125 for a SF.  SOLD OUT.  Will be available on the Lily Auction in the future.

This seedling just kept hanging around and hanging around and every year I saved it because of the intensity of it's gold color.  I don't really breed heavily for this color, but am still a fan of the old golds like Mary's Gold and Cheddar Cheese. Farmhouse Cheddar has that intense gold color with great substance complemented by a ruffled gold outer edge.  It does get hung up on cold mornings. Fertile both ways.  $100 for a SF.  SOLD OUT.  This will be available on the lily auction in the future.
